Communication systems technician

Rogers Communications is situated in Hinton, AB and is hiring a Communication systems technician to join the team. We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to start as soon as possible. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. The schedule involves Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On call, To be determined, Overtime available shifts.

Job Description

• The candidate must diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must inspect operation of telecommunications equipment.
• The candidate must install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
• The candidate must test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults.
• The candidate must analyze test results and adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software.
• The candidate must determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.
• The candidate must climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
• The candidate must connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets.
• The candidate must install cable modems and software to enable Internet access.
• The candidate must maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems.
• The candidate must repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.

• The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
