Carpenter

Butler Contracting Ltd in Smithers, BC is inviting applications for the position of Carpenter. Ideally suited for a motivated individual ready to join the team immediately. Terms of employment: Seasonal employment or Full time. Flexible availability required for: Morning, Day, Overtime available, , 07:00 to 19:00.

Job Description

• The candidate must measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• The candidate must instruct apprentices.
• The candidate must supervise other workers.
• The candidate must maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
• The candidate must work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• The candidate must fabricate and apply removable insulation pads and covers.
• The candidate must erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
• The candidate must build staging or erect scaffolding for heavy metalworking jobs.

Work Setting

• The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
• The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
• The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.
• The candidate must work on roads and bridges to construct, maintain, or repair infrastructure and ensure safety standards.
• The candidate must work in fabrication to construct, assemble, or modify products and components according to specifications, ensuring quality and precision.
• The candidate must work in drilling operations.
• The candidate must work in a camp to support operations, supervise activities, and ensure the safety and engagement of participants.
• The candidate must work from a remote location, performing their duties from a site other than the employer’s central office while maintaining productivity and communication.
