Assistant cook

Cumin Kitchen and Drink is situated in New Minas, NS and is hiring a Assistant cook to join the team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and begin duties immediately. This role offers Permanent employment or Full time employment. Work schedule: Overtime required, Morning, Day, Evening.

Job Description

• The candidate must coordinate special events.
• The candidate must determine appropriate food portion sizes and associated costs.
• The candidate must plan menus and estimate food requirements for preparation.
• The candidate must requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
• The candidate must prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and food items.
• The candidate must inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• The candidate must train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• The candidate must order supplies and equipment.
• The candidate must supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• The candidate must maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• The candidate must clean kitchen and work areas.
• The candidate must recruit and hire staff.
• The candidate must manage kitchen operations.
